Alexis was a late bloomer when it came to ballroom dancing. While studying biology and psychology at the University of California, Irvine he stumbled into his first Swing class. It was meant to be the start of a new hobby and a way to meet people, but soon became a passion that continued to grow. After graduating in 2003, Alexis joined the professional world and worked in a hospital for over a year before deciding something was missing. Through the recommendation of a friend, Alexis sought out ballroom dancing in 2004 and that passion for dance soon became a blaze. Soon after, Alexis became a certified dance teacher and had a successful career in California over the next ten years, winning several awards in teaching excellence and nurturing many of his students to top student awards. Now residing in Texas, Alexis is excited to be part of the Fred Astaire Dance Studios and the team in the Woodlands.
